Blue Atlas Robotics Underwater Robot at SMM
Blue Atlas Robotics presented their self-operating underwater robot at one of the exhibition stands. The robot performs an underwater visual inspection on marine vessels, harbor, and quay walls and collects high-quality inspection data without leaving any gaps as it performs inspection in a special ‘S’ pattern through which each and every part of the vessel gets inspected. Advanced photogrammetry technique is then used to 100,000 colored individual pictures into an explorable 3D interactive model of the entire structure. It’s a more efficient means of evaluating corrosion, fouling, damages, and other issues in water-based assets than current methods such as point scanning – leading to reduced downtime and repairs in the future.
